• Empire State Plaza Phases II and III, NYPA, Albany, NY: as program manager, implemented multiple projects for Empire State Plaza’s central chilled water and steam plants. The Empire State Plaza Hudson River pumping station supplies all condenser water requirements for the central cooling plant. Led the engineering effort for the installation of a variable frequency drive (VFD) system to provide adjustable supply of condenser water based on a control signal from the upgraded chiller plant management system based on the chiller condensing pressure and river water discharge temperature. The scope of work also included upgrading the controls system at the pump station.  Installation of the VFD measure of this project helped with the State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (SPDES) permit renewal process for Empire State Plaza.

• Poughkeepsie State Office Building, NYPA, Poughkeepsie, NY: as project manager, led the engineering effort to conduct a feasibility study to determine various energy conservation measures (ECMs). The options designed and implemented included: boiler replacement, fire alarm system replacement, smoke control system upgrades, and air coil replacement. Capital costs were calculated and presented for each of these improvements and life cycle costs of each option were determined by taking into account the capital costs and fuel and electricity costs.

• One West Street, NYPA, Mineola, NY: as project manager, managed the feasibility study that determined that the existing mechanical systems are nearing the end of their useful lifetimes and recommended system replacement prior to equipment failure. The study also concluded that both the existing mechanical systems are and the components recommended by the AG/LIRO report were oversized. These results were presented the county with the options of using the AG/LIRO design, using the AG/LIRO design but correctly sizing the HVAC systems, or using an alternate engineering design.
